Hello,
I am now two months in to my twelve month internship at Microsoft and I love it. I am a Project Manager in the Premier Services sector of the business. In this job role I am currently working on seven different projects. These range from managing the creation of an internal SharePoint site to coordinating the integration of a global software tool for the Premier Service community. In every single project I can see the impact which I am making and the effect that this is causing not only on the project but on a variety of stakeholders.
Working on such a wide variety of projects allows me to see the business from many different perspectives which have already given me a great insight in to how Microsoft works. Furthermore, I have the opportunity to meet so many different employees from different departments and learn their experiences!
This week I am managing an international training day for a new internal tool at the Thames Valley campus. I have been given a lot of autonomy on this project which not only gives me the motivation to succeed but the power to make important decisions which is amazing. Moreover, the flexibility which I have in my role is high, which makes it easy to be involved in other activities during the working day.
